10pts Document Setup - Work is 11inches by 17inches and submitted as a .png file.
40pts Drawing - Self-Portrait includes shapes that demonstrate understanding of facial features and proportions.
40pts Color Theory - Work is completely colored using one of the following color theories: triadic, complementary, or analogous.
10pts Name & Year - Work includes the student's name and the current year written with a tablet or mouse (no text boxes).

Open your google drive.
Click on the "New" document button.
Go to "More" then "Google Drawing."
Rename your file with...
firstName lastName final project
e.g. daniel aktas final project
A. Click "File"
B. Click "Page setup"
A. Select "Custom" from the drop down.
B. Set your document to 11 x 17 inches
Right click your photo and select copy image.
See Mr. Aktas if you need a self-portrait taken.
Resize your image to fit the HEIGHT of your artboard.
A. Select the image (should be outlined in blue).
B. Click "Format Options."
A. Open the "Adjustments" options.
B. Set the opacity to 30%.
C. Close the inspector window.
Use this website to select a color palette. TAKE A SCREENSHOT!
A. Select the number of colors at 6.
B. Pick a color harmony.
C. Click "Generate"
Paste the color palette into your document.
Use the following combinations of keyboard and mouse to NAVIGATE.
We will have to change the fill color each time for closed shapes. It is a quark of the program unfortunately.
A. Select the polygon tool
B. Create a shape and click on the beginning of the line to CLOSE the shape.
C. Click the paint bucket while the object is still selected
D. Select transparent fill
A. Select the polygon tool.
B. Click a SECOND TIME in the same location to END the line.
*Open shapes CANNOT be filled with color. Use only for adding details.
Use your packet to trace your facial features! USE CLOSED SHAPES!!!!!
Delete your reference image.
A. Select a closed shape.
B. Click the paint bucket
C. Click the eye dropper
D. Click on a color on your palette
If a shape "disappears," follow these steps:
A. Make sure the shape is selected.
B. Go to Arrange.
C. Click Order
D. Click Bring To Front
A. Select all of your lines.
B. Click the line dropdown.
C. Select a line thickness.
Use the rectangle tool and draw a colored rectangle over your whole artboard.
A. Select the rectangle.
B. Send it to the back.
A. Click the carrot dropdown.
B. Select "Scribble."
You will need a drawing tablet for the next step.
Remember that the cord NEEDS TO BE ON THE LEFT SIDE for the tablet to work correctly!
A. Click on the XPPEN software on the DESKTOP.
B. Click on the Pen Icon.
C. Uncheck the "windows ink" button!
Must be written by with tablet or mouse!
You can place it anywhere on the page. Remember you can RESIZE the lines, change the color, and line thickness.
A. Click "File."
B. Click "Download."
C. Click "png..."
Submit your work to canvas!

Lay down your first layer. This should be a very de-saturated layer also known as a WASH.
The work shown has 5 LAYERS. Mix colors, let the watercolor bleed, and use a clean-ish brush to blend or move the color around.
