What are we doing in this class?
Goal 1 for 1st Half of the Year
Students will be able to use distinct art mediums to plan, execute, and reflect on works of art.
(You will work with a bunch of different art supplies and try different techniques)
Goal 2 for 2nd Half of the Year
Students will develop interpersonal skills through working in small and large teams to execute designs and communicate their ideas.
(You will practice being a good leader or team player of a art team)

You are going to vote on the TEAM projects we will do for the 2nd half of the year. We will use APPROVAL VOTING!
Pointillism Murals
What? Each team will paint a wall inside the school.
The Good? You get to FINGER PAINT...
The Bad? You will have to finger paint.
Anything Else? All students will sketch their own designs for "Rise Up", "Shine Bright", and "Soar". The five designs our class likes the most will go on the walls.
Conductive Bird Wall
What? You will make a wall that makes bird sounds when you touch it.
The Good? You will research a bird from Florida and draw them on tin foil!
The Bad? Lots of drawing!
What Else? If your class has a good idea we can swap out the bird idea for something else.
Pixel Window Art
What? Its pixel art...
The Good? You can pick ANYTHING YOU WANT! To FILL the window
The Bad? Your team has to cut the pixels out by hand.
What Else? You get to pick what two windows your team will work on!
Art Machines
What? You and a team will make themed drawing robots using wires, motors, and batteries!
The Good? Explore, have fun, invent, and learn basic electronics!
The Bad? Its a shorter project and you are graded as a team.
What Else? You can keep your moving drawing machines when you are done!
Lego Spirograph
What? Make amazing geometric pictures with legos, motors, and a tiny bit of programming.
The Good? Its fun, easy, and you get a jump start if you want to join the robotics club.
The Bad? You can't keep the lego machines, just the artwork they make.
What Else? Its LEGO!
Jump Game
What? Draw your own characters, background, and obstacles to put into a real game!
The Good? You will get to play everyone's game for the critique at the end!
The Bad? The programming is HARD but rewarding.
What Else? You have to work as a team to create multiple levels and solve coding problems.Â
Stop Motion Animation
What? Paper stop motion animation! You will make a gif
The Good? Its easy to get started! Just cut the paper!!!
The Bad? Each second requires 15 pictures. Its a lot of work to get smooth animations!
What Else? You will create an amazing digital work of art!
